AIHA Awards Scientific Analytical Institute, Inc. Full Industrial Hygiene and Lead Lab Accreditation

March 23, 2007

Scientific Analytical Institute, Inc. (SAI) is pleased to announce additional accreditations by the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA). With these recognitions, SAI now has the distinction of full compliance with ISO 17025:2005 requirements and full accreditation in all three environmental AIHA programs.

IH Services: The AIHA Industrial Hygiene Laboratory Accreditation Program (IHLAP) is the largest of its kind, in operation since 1974. With full IHLAP accreditation of its asbestos, materials, and silica (XRD) departments, SAI becomes part of a distinctive group of laboratories, affirming commitment to the highest degree of quality service and performance.

Environmental Lead: The Environmental Lead Laboratory of SAI has also been fully acknowledged by the AIHA Environmental Lead Laboratory Accreditation Program (ELLAP). SAI now joins the ranks of approved labs for HUD lead analysis, in that the ELLAP program is an EPA-recognized National Lead Laboratory Program (NLLAP).

Microbiology: Additionally, the spore trap accreditation already held by the microbiology laboratory at SAI has been expanded to include full accreditation for culture and direct fungal exams by the AIHA Environmental Microbiology Laboratory Accreditation Program (EMLAP).

“This recognition affirms what I already knew – SAI has a passion for quality that permeates every aspect of what we do,” said Sean Fitzgerald, Quality Assurance Director for SAI, Inc. “Choosing quality is a mantra recipe for our long term success. Congratulations to the entire team.”
